Westport House Announces New Sober Living Program for Men

WESTPORT, Conn – April 3, 2018 – Westport House today announced that it has expanded its programming to include a stand-alone sober living environment for men. This level of aftercare will allow clients the flexibility to return to work immediately, have a vehicle, and manage their schedule from day one. However, they will have access to all of the services that Westport House has to offer including day or evening IOP, individual therapy, medication management, medication-assisted treatment (MAT), gym memberships, recreational activities, and 12-step immersion – all while residing in the upscale recovery residences for which we known.

“Our expansion of services is in response to demand,” explains Albert Samaras, Founder & Executive Director. “Because Westport House has traditionally been a step-down extended care model for young men, we have had to turn away numerous professionals and others who cannot sit on the sidelines for several months after rehab. Moreover, the lack of quality sober living, at an affordable price point, in Fairfield County only contributes to the demand.”

The Westport House Sober Living program is located in a stand-alone 4,000 sq. ft. residence in a quiet Westport neighborhood near their outpatient center. Sober living clients can expect the same level of quality and clinical services albeit on an a la carte basis and initially driven by their rehab discharge plan.

Admissions and Out-of-Pocket Costs
Acceptance into sober living will be based primarily on a clinical evaluation performed as part of the admissions process.  This typically includes a review of available medical history and telephone interviews with the potential client and his case manager or therapist.

The cost of sober living at Westport House is based on two components: residential and clinical. The Westport House outpatient center is currently in-network with Anthem Blue Cross and its affiliates and expects to be in-network with other carriers shortly.  The monthly out-of-pocket cost will factor in insurance reimbursement and any partial scholarships for which the client may be eligible. Potential clients should plan on budgeting approximately $5,000 per month for sober living. A major investment for sure, but one that is close to 1/3 the cost of comparable Fairfield County and NYC sober living programs.
